Home-care products Day2: Acu-mist

Acu-mist is the second product that I use, everyday. It's a great product to use, similar to herb and mineral spray; the product is used to rebuild the acid mantle on the skin, it can also be used as a great moisturiser several times throughout the day.

Since you remove everything that lies on your skin with your wash, you now need to start to rebuild the skin. Doing this with Danné products means that your skin will work how it should properly, acne-prone skin doesn't work properly (Put simply). The mist creates the perfect base layer to put other products on.

Use the spray after you've cleansed your skin with the Danné cleanser I mentioned in the previous post. Then I hold the Acu-Mist just a little less then arms length away from the body, just so your forearm and upper arm make a 90 degree angle. This means that you can get maximum coverage of the spray, it also means you don't have to spray the affected area too many times! (Saving you money & time).

Your skin will then be primed for additional products.

From past experience; when me and Susanne first tested the make up on my skin (which I will talk about later on), my skin was a little dry, we'd use the spray on the skin prior to applying the Creme-glacé which is preliminary to the makeup. So it can act as an all-day moisturiser if your skin feels a little dry and you don't want to worry your face by putting on your moisturiser; take out your mist and spray a few times!

For a bonus the new spray smells different to herb and mineral, it's a pleasant smell to wake up to.

Hope you enjoyed the blog, please subscribe via email to the blog. Please share the blog with as many people you know, anyone that suffers from acne will be happy to read this blog.

I may make a different post tomorrow about the emotional side effects of having acne. Tell me what you think.

The next home product overview will be Beta-gel; an essential protein based gel.

Have a pleasant weekend. Mail me if you have anything you wish to talk about, I check my computer regularly, so no doubt I won't respond!

Home-care products; protect and maintain

I have had several requests to make a post about what home products I use, the after-care of a Danné treatment. So I have decided to make a post about them! Each day I will post information about the product. Starting with Acu-Klenz.

It's pretty simple, but it sounds complicated. I thought to my self; i'm never going to be able to have time to put all these products on when Susanne kindly introduced me to them some months ago. So when I got home with my products, I was eager to use them, they look beautiful and I couldn't wait to try them out.

It turns out that it only took 3-4 minutes to put all of the products onto my skin, which is really efficient, considering I only have 20 minutes to eat my breakfast, pack my bag, my lunch and head off to school. Obviously with time using Danné products is like second nature to me, it now only takes less then 2 minutes. It is simple.

I will start with the first product, as Danné himself said before "All the products must be used together, they don't work on their own."   And he's right, they don't.

The wash- ACU-KLENZ

The product its self is amazing, it leaves my skin feeling that extra smooth, rubber-like to touch, it doesn't dry the skin out like other over the counter products such as a Benzyl Peroxide wash, they're harsh and i've been down that route before; it never worked and left my skin in a worse place.

Using the product;

The first product that I use, morning and night. I usually use this in the shower, it's the only product that stays in the shower at all times. To use it just simple press the lid in, turn upside down and out comes the product. Make sure you rub it into your hands a little, make a nice lather in your hands. Then this is one amazing tip for helping with your war against acne; it takes a few factors to get this right; you must be gentle, you must take time to make sure the product gets to the affected area, get an even consistency. Slowly massage the product into the skin, but don't hurt the skin, you will have to have feather touch. You will forget to do this from time to time which is normal, I do it all the time, believe me, everyone does it! Just remember from time to time, if you ever get a breakout; this will help you out a lot.

Thank you for reading my post, post below any questions or email me:

The treatment; Danné

In this post, I would like to talk about Danné, the treatment I used in the BBC3 documentary "Dying for clear skin". Which has changed my life.
Link to the website:
Earlier this year my acne was at its worst. It wasn’t getting any better and the Doctors were not helping at all. No cream or drug could solve my problem. I tried everything; Benzyl Peroxide, 3 different tetracyclines, endless cream combinations. My skin just got dryer, crispier and spottier. I lost hope in Doctors at that point. I’d spend hours on the web researching treatments, never to be successful.
In April 2012 I found Danné and through the amazing help of the BBC, I was in contact with Susanne Williams. It was the biggest relief in my life when she said “No one leaves my clinic with acne”. And ever since that Susanne has kept to her word.
Come May, I headed down to Harley Street London on the train. The first time I visited, I felt scared, anxious and didn’t know what to expect, which is usual for someone first meeting someone that works on Harley Street. After visiting multiple times I now feel comfortable and homely to Susanne’s clinic. Susanne is a wonderful practitioner, there is not one thing that she doesn’t know about skin. I find it easy to talk to Susanne whilst at the clinic and we usually have a good chat. On a few occasions I’ve been tired from travelling, so I usually go to sleep for a good 40 minutes while Susanne does the treatment and I wake up feeling revived.
Using reverse osmosis and back-flushing the toxins from the skin back into the lymphatic drainage system, improving  blood circulation, helps with dry skin, hyper-pigmentation, acne and stretch marks. Enzymes are the most important part of the treatment, I saw results each time. Amazing effect. Usually left on the skin for 40 minutes.
After taking the enzymes off the skin, the capillaries dilate and new "cleaner" blood is brought to the skin, shown in this photo. This usually lasts 10-15 minutes after treatment, real science there.

Alkaline Wash:
A little harsher then the enzymes, but faster to do than the 40minute enzyme treatment. The product is left on the skin for a short 70 seconds and then is built up each week. It works to remove hair from the pores; thus stopping ingrown hairs, it removes dry skin, and works deep into the skin. This peel can leave you a little red if you are prone to being red, but the effects of the treatment are amazing, like the enzymes; results every time.
The laser isn't owned by Danné, but it is used within the treatment. It's my favourite treatment, just because it's pretty cool thinking about the laser being on your skin, zapping away. The zapping didn't hurt, just a little buzz on the skin. The best results came from this, killed bacteria deep in the skin, the laser worked well. Recommended to anyone.
Scar revision:
About 6 weeks ago, I started scar treatment for my scarring that's left over. Already effects have began, scars have almost disappeared. I am looking at my chest now as I type this and I had some pretty big scars, they've evened out. I noticed differences from scar treatment about 1 month after. Better each week.
Using the pin roller, which hurts a lot at first, but then you get used to it believe me! Then proteins and other nutrients are put onto the skin, then ultra sound is used to pack the ingredients in. This encourages the skin to re-plump the scars out, evening out the skin. I'm almost there with the scarring, hopefully will be gone in the new year

I would recommend Danné to anyone who suffers with any type of acne; it will change you and your life for a fact.

If anyone would like me to post about the home products, please say and I will post about them, thank you :) Hope you enjoyed.

To introduce my self, my name is William Rickard, i'm a 15 year old post-acne sufferer . I have recently featured on a BBC documentary "Dying for Clear skin" which I will talk about in my next post. Also I have featured on BBC Breakfast show talking about my thoughts towards acne.

I want to make a difference even after my face is out of Mainstream media. So I decided to create a blog that will help people with their acne, I hope this will reach out to people that read it. Acne changed me and my life and believe me it isn't the end of the world.

I will go add new posts frequently on how to help with skin and my experiences.

To begin here are a few photos of me:
